Dalla filosofia come letteratura alla letteratura come filosofia. Il passaggio postmoderno da Nietzsche a Franzen

In this article, we aim to face the theme of the relationship between philo sophy and literature, in the light of a path that goes from the end of modernity to postmodernity, in reference to two authors: Friedrich Nietzsche, who in our opinion starts the philosophical process beyond modernity, and Jonathan Franzen, who currently represents it in its literary evolution. About the latter, we take as reference only the novel Freedom, also given the limited extension of the present work. Here our purpose is not to show how the reflection presented by Nietz sche can be defined as “philosophy as literature”, because this has been said by several scholars, but how it lays both the philosophical and social foundations for what will be, in postmodernity and in a writer like Franzen, a “literature as philosophy”, in the peculiar meaning in which Nietzsche himself understands philosophy and with the differences that this evolution entails.
